Ashok Leyland - a major Indian automobile company, which produces a wide range of trucks, buses and military vehicles.

Ashok Leyland company was founded in 1948. Located in Chennai, India. It is one of the largest Indian companies that produce commercial vehicles and components. It is considered the flagship of its parent company - Hinduja Group, with headquarters in London.

Ashok Leyland is a wide range of products:

     buses from 18 to 82-seater (double decker)
     trucks (from 7.5 to 49 tons)
     special vehicles and diesel engines,
     military equipment.

In 2010 the company produced 95,337 commercial vehicles and 17,603 engines and generators.

The company operates under license from the British company Leyland Motors (English) Russian .. In 2007 it was announced that a joint venture with Nissan.

In 2011, Ashok Leyland has started a joint venture with Bus Plant "Volzhanin" for the production of buses in the city of Volgograd Volga region.
