Headquartered in the city of Modena, Italy. Currently the company owns an Italian industrial group «FIAT». Output in 2007 was 7669 vehicles. Car Maserati Quattroporte ? 1 belongs to the former President of Italy Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, and the Maserati Quattroporte ? 2 - former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The rest are sold worldwide, including in Russia.

The family had six Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, Ernesto and Mario. Mario has devoted himself to art. Carlo began a successful career racing driver, but in 1919 he died of tuberculosis. Alfieri, Bindo and Ernesto worked for automotive company «Isotta-Fraschini». In 1914, Alfieri decided to open his own studio near Bologna. Soon he was joined by two younger brothers - Bindo and Ernesto, and together they built a sports car with a two-liter engine. In 1926, with financial support from diatoms brothers founded the company "Maserati". The company began producing vehicles with 4 -, 6 -, 8 - and 16-cylinder engines. One of the first Maserati, managed by Alfieri, won the 1926 Targa Florio.

Artist Mario has developed a company logo - a trident. In 1932, Alfieri died, but the remaining three brothers - Bindo, Ettore and Ernesto - continued the business of the company.
