New Lexus CT 200h To Feature IS F-Originated Equipment

The 2011 Lexus CT 200h is planned to come on the market in March. As a reminder to everyone about the existence of the dedicated hybrid — thinking back about Toyota to have made this model public about a year ago — the carmaker will showcase its tuner model at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show.

As compared to a regular model, the Five Axis Project CT model will suggest a more pushy suspension and braking setup, 19-inch wheels, aerography paint and a touch-screen interface.

However, Lexus is not going to put the model into production. Allison Takahashi, Lexus spokeswoman, represents that this is just a project car, but Lexus will release new sporty accessories that bear a resemblance to the equipment in the Lexus IS F.

Originally, the CT 200h will come with just one trim, 17-inch wheels and dual-zone automatic air conditioning system.

The Lexus IS, IS C GS, LS 460 Sport, LFA and the IS F currently all feature F Sport Equipment performance accessories. Optionally, the CT 200h equipment will suggest larger wheels, a performance suspension, body kit, foot levers and gear stick. Having everything altogether will get you a car about to look like the Lexus CT 200h F Sport Concept showcased at the 2010 SEMA auto show. These features are something that make the CT 200h different from the much less sporty HS 250. Here, each model is meant to meet a different driver need, just like the IS and ES of the analogical price and size do.

The Lexus CT 200h will be marketed at the price of $29,120, with an additional $875 as a destination fee. That makes this Lexus obviously less expensive than the HS 250h and actually most affordable in the model line.
