However, inflation after the First WorldWar was the cause of the almost complete destruction of enterprises, and the brothers sold the company to concern General Motors. Opel, aiming to win the car market of small and middle classes, became the largest automobile company in Europe. Opel Olympia Opel Kadett and became iconic cars of its time.
